Levi Church was a mid 19th century brewer from Bedford. Originally born in Bromham Bedfordshire in 1806, he was, with his parents and siblings subject to a removal order, and removed to St Pauls in Bedford.
By 1841 he had established himself as a brewer and his occupation was still that of a brewer on the 1861 census. Over 150 years on and we are still brewing beer in his honour, and because we like beer. It must be in the DNA.
